Description of Project: These long time BRY-JO Roofing and Remodeling customers came back with the request of creating a "man cave." This 4,000 square foot home located in the Hidden Creek neighborhood of McKinney had plenty of space in the second floor attic that allowed BRY-JO Roofing and Remodeling to create a space specifically for the man of the house. The work included new framing, building out beyond the roofline, which was wrapped in James Hardie Siding on the exterior. (Two years before, BRY-JO completed a room addition on the other side of this house for their oldest son's bedroom). The exterior finish was duplicated from the bedroom addition for the media room addition). New electric, insulation, flooring, texture and paint were also part of the process. Wall sconces were used so the diffused lighting set up the perfect ambiance for a night at the theater. A large ceiling fan was installed for air circulation. It was necessary for the Heating and Air Conditioning to be adjusted for the additional space. The homeowners chose to go with a deep, rich burgundy color for the walls of the Media Room. Now, when one enters the space, they walk through a game room complete with billiard table, poker table, darts and various sports paraphernalia and step up into a plush and relaxing media room for their favorite movie. Michael Harris began his career in the roofing industry back in 1986 as an installer. In 1997 he broadened his experience to home repairs, water and fire damage restoration and remodeling with and without his tool belt on. In 2000 Michael and Maria started BRY-JO on a shoe-string budget with one major objective: to provide honest, quality turn-key services that homeowners could rely on. BRY-JO operates two divisions. Because of all the years Michael was a roof installer, he personally oversees the roofing division, which specializes in roof replacements, patio covers, porches, siding and window replacements. The remodeling division specializes in kitchen and bathroom remodels, opening floor plans, room additions and whole house renovations to name a few. The fire and water restoration services bridge both divisions. With more than 1800 satisfied customers, BRY-JO recently added the ability to create 3-D design renderings for remodeling and restoration projects. This is an added benefit for customers so they can actually "see" what the final result will be.
